My Process
FAQs
How long does it take to get a custom piece made?
Custom wood and resin pieces can take anywhere from a week to a few weeks, depending on my schedule!
If you are looking to buy a custom made item, fill out our online form here, so we can chat about what you're looking for.
Does your inventory change often?
New inventory is added every month, typically in larger batches, so check back often. I work in stages, pouring a lot of boards, planing and cutting them, then finally sanding and oiling — there will be frequent large “drops” as sanding and oiling on a batch of wood is complete.
Where do you get the wood for your products?
I have several places - Etsy, Frederick Lumber Company, Gouchenouer Sawmill, and Alexander Brothers in the Shenandoah Valley.
Can you fix a board that’s been damaged?
If the board has been damaged due to improper care by the customer, I’ll repair it for a fee and the customer must pay for shipping both ways.
What’s your refund/return policy?
All refunds/returns for our handmade goods are decided on a case-by-case basis. I want you to be thrilled with your purchase and will do what I can to make the situation right.
If an item is unsatisfactory, a written explanation and photos are needed before the item(s) may be considered for a refund. Improper care that results in damage to the boards (soaking in water, dishwasher, stains, etc.) will not be eligible for a refund.
Refunds/returns can be arranged by emailing me within one week of receiving your item: theherndonwoodshed@gmail.com.
*Shipping would need to be paid by the customer.
